How ordinary people purchase and installation of green technologies like solar and wind energy in Michigan?

I know these things are done in Michigan and television shows people do this, but when I search all I get is companies looking to do business with other companies or sites that have information purchase only product information. I do not understand why there is this lack of connection to the television and the Internet. TV pushes the new technology, while the Internet seems to be a time to admit that it exists.

Let me start by saying that we (my family and I) live completely, 100% "off the network and are completely self sufficient "The house is constructed using natural elements nature in the form of an octagon with bow doors, 8 feet wide on each wall of capture every angle of wind (typical 4 sided homes have half the chance as one with 8 sides. A circle is the most efficient design). Wood stoves, solar chimney, solar AC, solar heating, solar water heating (pool and home), solar cooking, solar energy, wind power, driven hydrogen back up generator, hydrogen back up water heater, hydrogen stove, 2 hydrogen powered trucks, 1 EV (electric vehicle) and satellite Internet. There are no utility lines, no water lines, roads, television, cellular service, etc in our ranch. Everything needed is produced here. All electricity comes from 27 solar panels, 2 wind gens and a back hydrogen generator if needed (usually we can last 9 days with all the luxuries of time without sun, no wind, it has not happened yet). The water is captured and stored from the rain. Hot water is made with solar heaters of water with a lot of hydrogen in hot demand as a backup. Even our vehicles use alternative energy (2 hydrogen trucks, 1 car EV electric converted). Because of this we have no bills, no debt and no mortgage. The fallowing steps were taking directly from a DIY guide that provide who likes to run their homes with solar power safely, reducing their monthly bills, or even selling power the electric companies. The comprehensive guide is available at www-com moon water. Its quite simple, but if you have any problem please contact me directly I can walk process was launched. Materials you need a sheet of copper flashing from the hardware store. This usually costs about $ 5.00 per square foot. We will have over half a square foot. Clamp two tracks. A sensitive micro-ammeter that can read currents between 10 and 50 microamperes. Radio Shack sells small LCD multimeters to do, but uses a small gauge surplus with a needle. An electric stove. My stove is gas, so I bought a small burner electric hotplate for about $ 25. The small 700 watt burners probably will not work - mine is 1100 watts, so the burner gets red hot. A large clear plastic bottle off of which you can cut the top. I used a 2 liter bottle of spring water. A large mouth glass jar will also work. Table salt. I want a couple of tablespoons of salt. Tap water. Sandpaper or a wire brush in an electrical installation. Drilling sheet metal scissors for cutting the copper sheet. The first step is to cut a piece of foil copper is about the size of the burner of the stove. Wash your hands so that no grease or oil on them. Then wash the copper sheet with soap or cleanser oil or fat for the same. Use the sandpaper or wire brush to thoroughly clean the copper roof, so that any sulphide or other light corrosion is removed. Then, Place the cleaned and dried copper sheet on the burner and turn the burner to its highest value. As the copper starts to heat up, you will see the patterns of oxidation beautiful start to form. Oranges, purples, reds and copper cover. As the copper is heated, the colors are replaced with a black coating of copper oxide. This Not the oxide we want, but it will flake off later, showing the reds, oranges, pinks and purples of the cuprous oxide layer underneath. The last remnants color disappear as the burner starts hot. When the burner is bright red-hot copper plate is covered with a black coat oxide copper. Simmer for half an hour, so the black coating will be thick. This is important because a thick flake well, while a thin coat will stay glued to copper. After half hour of cooking, turn off the recorder. Leave the hot copper on the burner to cool slowly. If it cools too quickly, the oxide black will stay glued to copper. As the copper cools, it contracts. The black cupric oxide also shrinks. But they shrink at different rates, which makes the black cupric oxide flake off. The black flakes pop off the copper with enough force to blow a few inches. This is an effort bit more cleaning around the stove, but it's fun to watch. When the copper has cooled to room temperature (this takes about 20 minutes), most of the black oxide will be gone. A light wash hands under running water will remove most of the small pieces. Resist the temptation to remove all the black spots debug disk or flexing the soft copper. This could damage the delicate red cuprous oxide layer we need to make to the work of the solar cell. Cut another sheet copper the same size as the first. Fold the pieces carefully, so that it fits into the plastic bottle or jar without touching. The copper oxide coating that was to up in the background is usually the best side to face outwards in the jar, because it has the most gentle and clean the surface. Connect the clip has two, one plate copper again, and one to the plate coated with copper oxide film. Connect the cable from the clean copper plate to the positive terminal of the meter. Connect the power plate copper oxide to the negative terminal of the meter. Now mix a couple tablespoons of salt into some hot water. Stir in salt water until salt dissolves. Then carefully pour the saltwater into the jar, being careful not to get the clip leads wet. The saltwater should not completely cover the plates - you should leave about an inch of the plate above the water, so you can move around the solar cell without the clip leads wet. now place in the sun with the top magnefied. The solar cell is a battery, even in the dark, and usually are a few microamps of current. It is that simple. If you'd more detailed process and some photos (ouldn't to here) is available, along with some other alternative energy projects DIY Water-com www moon I hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if you want help making your first self sufficient steps, I'm willing to walk step by step threw the process.
